What Now, God? - 1-3-18

One thing that's been echoing back and forth between team members is how this trip has been a reminder. That we don't have to go on a missions trip to be missionaries. So much about Baytown and Pasadena reminds us of York. We're on a missions trip every day in York and the surrounding areas. Shame on us if we have forgotten. Sharing the love of Christ and the hope he offers doesn't require us to go to a far distant village and eat spiders and minister to a people who don't know what clothes are. Although God can and does call people to those specific situations, he also has called all of us right where we are. For the team in Houston, this week has cleared a path straight to our hearts, and I believe God wants to use this blog and the stories we bring back to clear that path for you as well. We hope and pray that after we get home and the energy of the trip has worn off, that we won't forget what we saw God do, that we won't forget the

Prayer Requests and Meet The Team! - Picture! - 2-1-18

Thank you for your prayers! "We really work well together," several team members have said and we all agree. God has blessed us with unity and good humor, even as we feel the accumulating wear and tear of the trip. (Though, don't get me wrong, we have been blessed immensely by the hospitality shown by the churches here. Good food. Cots and air mattresses. We can't complain.) - We ask for prayers for continued health and safety. Praise God we've only experienced minor scratches and bruises, not for lack of trying though. - Pray for renewal. As typical with trips, sleep has been difficult to come by for several team members. - Please pray for the people here in Houston, especially the children. A lot of recovery has happened already, but many people are still displaced from their homes. The emotional toll will take far longer to heal from. - Pray for Philip. I shared some of his story here ( Sunday Arrival Day ). He is a new Christian, serving here in the co
